Navabharat Night High School Old Students’ Association

The Navabharat Night High School Old Student’s Association was established on 08-09-1957 with the main aim to help its Alma Mater to develop by bringing together all the old students spread far and wide. In 1965, under the Presidentship of Old Student Sri M. Ramachandra (currently Secretary of the School), Old Students’ Association became very strong and brought name & fame to the school with their outstanding activities.

They brought out the first edition of their Souvenir “ALUMNI” in 1965 edited by Sri M. Ramachandra, President of the Association. This issue of “ALUMNI” was dedicated to the following four Distinguished Personalities in respectful application of their valuable Services to the Navabharat Night High School – Dr. K. Nagappa Alva, M.B.B.S., MLA, President of the school from 1950 to 1961 (former Health Minister of Govt. of Mysore), Sri U. Keshava Rao, B.A., L.T., Vice President of the School from 1954 to 1965, Smt. K. Radha L. Rao, B.A., L.T., Honorary Joint Secretary of the school from 1950 to 1965, Sri A. Sreenivasa Rao, M.A., L.T., Best Teacher of the School from 1951 to 1965. click here for pic
Under the auspicious of this Association, Moon Light Dinner was arranged by tickets on 18th January 1965. About 300 members participated in this Dinner event. The function which was held in open air was a grand success. The Chief Guests of this event were Srimathi and Sri. K. R. Aroor, B. Com., L.L.B. The Lucky Dip for the dinner ticket holders was conducted and the prizes were given away by the Chief Guest. The Koila Orchestra enlightened the dinner Party by giving a grand Music. Old Students’ Association used to celebrate their Annual Day grandly with quite fascinating programmes on separate successive day immediately after the School Annual Day for all these years. Drama in Kannada & Tulu enacted by old students which attracted large audience thousands in number arrived from different parts of South Kanara District especially to witness high standard Dramas (like movies) acted by Navabharat Night High School Old Students – a feast to watch and cherish for a long time.

ನವಭಾರತ್ ನೈಟ್ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು 08-09-1957 ರಂದು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಹಳೇ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಘದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಗುರಿ ದೂರದೂರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಅಲ್ಮಾ ಮೇಟರ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವುದು. click here for images
1965 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಹಳೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಂ. ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ (ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ), ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಘವು ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಹೆಸರು ಮತ್ತು ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯನ್ನು ತಂದಿತು.
ಅವರು 1965 ರಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಮರಣಿಕೆ "ಅಲುಮ್ನಿ" ಯ ಮೊದಲ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊರತಂದರು, ಇದನ್ನು ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಂ. ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ಅವರು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. "ಅಲುಮ್ನಿ" ಯ ಈ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನವಭಾರತ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಅನ್ವಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು - ಡಾ. ಕೆ. ನಾಗಪ್ಪ ಆಳ್ವ, M.B.B.S., ಶಾಸಕರು, 1950 ರಿಂದ 1961 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು (ಮಾಜಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸಚಿವರು), ಶ್ರೀ ಯು.ಕೇಶವ ರಾವ್, ಬಿ.ಎ., ಎಲ್.ಟಿ., 1954 ರಿಂದ 1965 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ. ಕೆ.ರಾಧಾ ಎಲ್.ರಾವ್, ಬಿ.ಎ., ಎಲ್.ಟಿ., 1950 ರಿಂದ 1965 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಗೌರವ ಜಂಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ, ಶ್ರೀ ಎ. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ರಾವ್, ಎಂ.ಎ., ಎಲ್.ಟಿ., 1951 ರಿಂದ 1965 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕ. click here for images
ಈ ಸಂಘದ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ, 18 ಜನವರಿ 1965 ರಂದು ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಮೂನ್ ಲೈಟ್ ಡಿನ್ನರ್ ಅನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸುಮಾರು 300 ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಈ ಭೋಜನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದರು. ಬಯಲುಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿತು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ. ಕೆ.ಆರ್.ಆರೂರ್, ಬಿ.ಕಾಂ., ಎಲ್.ಎಲ್.ಬಿ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭವನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದರು.
ಡಿನ್ನರ್ ಟಿಕೆಟ್ ಪಡೆದವರಿಗೆ ಲಕ್ಕಿ ಡಿಪ್ ನಡೆಸಿ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕೋಕಿಲಾ ವಾದ್ಯಮೇಳದವರು ಭವ್ಯ ಸಂಗೀತ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಔತಣಕೂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಚಾಲನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ವೈಭವಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಮನಸೂರೆಗೊಂಡಿತು. click here for images
ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಘವು ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಶಾಲಾ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ದಿನದ ನಂತರ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಅನುಕ್ರಮ ದಿನದಂದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅದ್ಧೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ತುಳು ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಿದ ನಾಟಕವು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕೆನರಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿತು, ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ನವಭಾರತ್ ನೈಟ್ ಹೈಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಹಳೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಅಭಿನಯಿಸಿದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ನಾಟಕಗಳನ್ನು (ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರಗಳಂತೆ) ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು - ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲ ನೆನಪಿಡುವ ಹಬ್ಬ.
